FILMS / PROJECTS

Archiving Asia America (2024)

An unfinished minidocumentary on archival items from my 爷爷 yeye, paternal grandfather, who passed away before I was born.

An extension to XVII (2021), I conduct an oral history project to restore legacy within the Lew name.

Thanks to Minju Bae at NYU for her course, entitled!

THEIR NAME IS HAN 他叫韓 [PROOF OF CONCEPT 2024]

The following is a proof of concept for my first fully scripted short animated film about Han, a nonbinary AFAB individual exploring their depression, friendship, individuality, and love.

Shown is the last scene of the script where Han rekindles their estranged friendship with their childhood friend, Melody at a surprise dinner with their mother and new boyfriend, Aki.

XVII (2021)

Amidst college applications during a global pandemic, I kept sane producing a short film using family home videos transcending eras of my parents’ and my life.

Premiered at my high school’s first virtual film festival.

DIVERGE (2020)

A short narraative film during the pandemic describing life growing up split in two diverging parts of the city.

Produced by DCTV-NY, my first film program.

JOURNEY - An Asian American Documentary (2020)

The Asian-American youths in this age have grown from their traditional notion of their Asian/American parents wanting their children to become a doctor, or a lawyer, or an engineer. These two young artists who were raised in the art-defined New York City are examples of these radical times, pushing past stereotypes and wanting to fit in with the careers they want to pursue.

TIKTOK

During the pandemic, I developed my video editing skills through everyone and their mom’s favorite app -- Tiktok. Posting initially to share my favorite films, transformed into my accidental five seconds of fame with videos going viral. I aimed to highlight representation, talent, and accessibility. See more here.
